Human beings are very opinionated creatures. They have a view on the worth of everything from the quality of the work their Toronto deck builder did to the new brand of cat food at the supermarket. But if there's one thing that people like to do more than have opinions its rank things. We're not satisfied until we've decided not just whether our sandwich is any good, but how it ranks among all the other sandwiches we've ever eaten in our lives. It's called ranking, and this website is dedicated to it in all its myriad forms.

Why do we rank things? Our urge to rank things or to seek out rankings when we're trying to make a decision is part of our natural urge toward orderliness. There's nothing more orderly than a line, so we tend to want to place our opinions and the opinions of others along lines so that they're neat and tidy and easily filed by Search Engine Optimization Ontario when they're doing their work. Ranking also helps us to order our thoughts so we can make decisions and to put the cap on our research into the subject by once and for all declaring a winner in the category.

The most common types of rankings we see on a daily basis are best and worst lists. When we're trying to choose a company to supply our dental office with lead products, best lists help us figure out which companies to choose and worst lists warn us against companies that aren't any good. But there are many, many more ways to rank. Rankings can go by price, by availability, by title, by company name, by suitability for a particular audience, by color, by location, by anything the ranker decides.

You would think that eventually with so many people making lists that eventually we'd run out of things to rank, but so far that hasn't been the case. Companies are always coming out with new tube cutting machines that mean the rankings have to be revisited. New people are coming onto the scene with different opinions than their predecessors, and categories are being divided up into ever smaller topics so more specific ranking information can be available to help people with just about any decision under the sun. For instance you might have a list of best DVDs, best DVDs of 2010, best DVDs, of a certain genre, and so on.

As a website dedicated to ranking, we aim to be your premiere source for rank information on the web. Whether you're trying to choose someone to do wedding catering in Hamilton or trying to develop your own ranked lists, we can help. We've got articles on ranking, studies on why ranking helps, how to guides for making your own rankings, famous rankings, likely locations to find rankings, and plenty of our own ranked lists to help you with your decision making. Check out the topics in the navigation bar at the top of the page to get started.
